JR did not enjoy writing at all and scored below 500 on the SAT critical reading section the first time he took it. We gave him strategies to improve and practiced writing with him.
JR eventually began scoring A’s in class, We focused on his ability to articulate science concepts to science fair judges and in scholarship essays. We submitted work to 10+ scholarship organizations
We guided JR through the application process. His improved writing was a major factor in his acceptance at several Ivy League schools. JR and his counselor decided that Cal-Tech was the best place to continue pursuing his passion in physics.
Our team consists of former admissions officers, seasoned counselors, and graduates of top universities who know what it takes to write successful essays.
JR was involved in a Jazz band and key club, but his activities had no major theme. We helped him gain the confidence to try new activities in his area of interest including science fair, research, and computer science.
We helped JR narrow down his interests and secure an intership at UCLA doing physics research that he then submitted to the California State Science Fair where he won 1st place. We also helped him start a physics club at his school.
We refined JR’s theme using our “one sentence approach” to help him identify the activities that mattered most to him as an applicant. He submitted a peer-reviewed research paper which formed the basis of our applications.
Each year we help hundreds of students discover their passion, find summer programs, land internships, and write perfect college essays.
Due to his high level of preparation JR was able to score a 2340 on the SAT and three perfect 800’s on his SAT II subject tests. He also continued exploring his interest in physics and ultimately decided to major in physics at Cal-Tech.
And we will get in touch as soon as possible.
